Cherry
Burton Arts is to host the first in a series of preview nights for the Beverley
Folk Festival when the ACOUSTIC TREASURES tour
calls at THE VILLAGE HALL, Main St
Cherry Burton Nr Beverley
on Saturday 10 May at 8pm.
THE
NEUMES, PAUL LIDDELL, EDWINA HAYES, JESS BANNISTER and MILES CAIN are some of the local acts lined up for the festival's
various stages and will give a taste of what to expect in Beverley 20-22
June with an exceptional evening's entertainment in Cherry Burton.
Cherry
Burton Arts organiser Jayne Scott explained " Most of these musicians have
played in Cherry Burton before- and all could easily headline in their own
right. To have them all on the same night will be brilliant! We think the
festival is a great asset to the area and will be sponsoring some events there
again this year."
As well
as some great music this is a perfect opportunity for anyone who hasn't been to
the festival to find out more about what is planned for this year and how to get
tickets.
The Acoustic
Treasures show-featuring different combinations of acts from the festival
visits Pocklington Arts Centre on Sunday 1 June and Hornsea (Victoria Hotel)
on Tuesday 10 June. Contact the festival office for more details tel 01377

Tickets (£5) for the Cherry Burton show are available
in advance from

Edwina
Hayes has a growing army of admirers - having been repeatedly chosen to tour
with the likes of Nanci Griffith and Jools Holland. Her solo shows are a
pleasing blend of well crafted songs - beautifully sung and played. Having
honed her musical skills while living in Nashville,
this Driffield-based girl has a brand new album ‘Pour Me a Drink' and will make
several main stage appearances at the festival. www.myspace.com/edwinahayes
Eighteen year old Jess
Bannister from Swanland won the Hull Talent Trail competition last year,
and since then has spent much of her time writing and recording her own
material. Her confident stage manner and great selection of songs appeals
to any audience. www.jessbannister.co.uk
Paul Liddell is an outstanding guitarist, singer and songwriter from Sunderland. Paul's 2005 release ‘A Lighthouse Keepers
Diary' earned him national acclaim, but it is his live performances that best
show his unique talent, as he gently wins over his audience with catchy riffs, great melodies and some
breathtaking technical wizardry. www.myspace.com/paulliddellmusic
The
Neumes are a mostly very young
female band playing some unusual self-penned material on a variety of
instruments. With a unique fusion of pop, jazz, folk and rock, sisters
Charlotte, Emily and Eleanor, who front the Goole based five-piece
outfit show a maturity well beyond their years. York-based
singer-songwriter. www.myspace.com/edwinahayes
Miles Cain has become one of the country's most
promising acts with his Neil Young/Dylan influenced songs. His new album ‘A Way of Being
Free' contains a strong blend of pop tunes alongside more heartfelt acoustic numbers. www.myspace.com/milescainukinformation
