‘English Folk music is lucky to have such persuasive ambassadors’ – The Sunday Times
For more than 30 years Norma Waterson and Martin
Carthy have been at the forefront of the English folk scene. Joined
by their daughter, singer and fiddle player, Eliza Carthy
as well as returning original member melodeon player Saul Rose
– together they form one of Britain’s most successful and influential folk
bands – Waterson:Carthy.
Waterson:Carthy’s latest album Holy Heathens and The Old Green Man is a rousing
mix of ritual and religion, customs and carols, savage imagery and soaring
songs of celebration which come together in magnificent style.
