Prepare to be blown away by the best young talent from around the UK.

Each night these young performers will take the stage in the Wold Top Marquee at the Festival Village.

Feedback from last year was fantastic, with live coverage on the Sunday night by BBC Radio Humberside's Raw Talent.

THE MAERLOCK is a five-piece line-up with fiddle, flute, piano, guitar and bodhran.Their music is a fresh take on the traditional tunes and songs of the British Isles as well as repertoire drawn from Eastern Europe and Scandinavia. Characterised by high-energy rhythms, at times surprising harmonies and always with a vigour and subtlety of melodic delivery, the band has forged for itself a unique sound.

JACK RUTTER. A very young, very talented, teenage boy hailing playing and singing traditional songs/modern instrumentals on guitar.

THE QP'S. Although young, the QP's have many years of festival experience under its collective belt with each member active in other groups as well as The QP. Playing a mixture of traditional and original numbers, ranging from acoustic songs to Klezmer influenced folk-rock the QP promise a full and varied show. One to watch out for!

KATHRYN DAVIDSON & DAN. Kathryn is a singer currently studying at the folk music degree in Newcastle. Kathryn is a previous nominee for BBC2 Young Folk Award.

ELLIE SKINNER. ‘..Ellie's interpretations never fail to engage, whilst still maintaining a refreshing contemporary appeal' Stewart Hardy. Ellie is a singer who particularly enjoys experimenting with different genres - and tackled all sorts from musicals to sacred, jazz to opera, but folk is her passion. She performs a cappella material mainly from Britain. Ellie was a St Albans New Roots Finalist 2006.

LAURA BETH SALTER & LUCY WILLIAMS. Laura Beth has been playing the mandolin since was 14. She recently finished her degree in folk and traditional music at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. Laura has previously collaborated with Lucy Williams (bass) on ‘Rocky Road Blues',.

4SQUARE. 4Square are four young musicians who play and sing a melodic blend of tunes and songs. From foot stomping reels, to weaving Eastern melodies, to heart wrenching songs, as well as many self-compositions, they play with technical prowess that defies their age, as well as fiery energy, and always a touch of fun. This Manchester-based quartet are currently working on their debut album.

HEATHER GESSEY TRIO. Heather plays the fiddle, whistle and flute and sings. Heather plays in ceilidh bands with other young musicians such as Joey Oliver of the band 422. Heather was a semi-finalist of the BBC2 Young Folk Awards.

FIDOLA. Fidola are a duo from England and Sweden. Rowan Rheingans plays fiddle, banjo and sings and Marit Fält plays låt mandola and fiddle. They met in 2007 at Bollnäs Folkhogskola in Hälsingland, Sweden, where they both study Swedish traditional music. In a short time Fidola have developed a repertoire which covers most of northern Europe and includes compositions of their own. They have played to full houses in both England and Scandinavia and have even graced national radio in Estonia. Rowan and Marit are not to be missed!
