MARTIN CARTHY
Arguably the greatest English folk song performer, writer, collector and editor of them all.
TOY HEARTS
An exciting, energetic and dynamic show, with just the right amount of sweetness, sass and style.
FURNACE MOUNTAIN
What sets them apart is freshness of sound, vocal interplay and fine playing.
CHUMBAWAMBA
A mix of traditional English folk, acappella song and skewed pop.
LADY MAISERY
Prepare to be enchanted by rich harmonies and sumptuous clashes.
PEATBOG FAERIES
From Skye, they have been described as ‘the future of Celtic dance music.’
MIGHTY DOONANS
A new band developed from the redoubtable “Doonan Family”, part of the English folk scene for many years.
HENRY PRIESTMAN
“It’s absolutely brilliant……. he’s found his voice.” Bob Harris, Radio 2
COOPE, BOYES & SIMPSON
Quite simply the best purveyors of acappella song on these islands.

When headliner Paul Carrack took to the main stage with his band, he rather sheepishly pointed out to the audience 'we're not actually a folk band', to which someone in the audience responded 'well this isn't actually a folk festival!' I have to agree, this annual festival has developed over the years into something else entirely, a festival with an eclectic agenda, mixing folk, blues, jazz, country, bluegrass, Americana and World Music with everything else in between. The programme is also peppered with lashings of poetry, comedy, literature events and a mini film festival. Something for just about everybody

Allan Wilkinson, Northern Sky Music Magazine

"Beverley Festival is known for its innovative and eclectic mix that bring the most friendly and relaxed atmospheres to this historic, East Yorkshire town. An enchanting blend of dance, comedy, literature, poetry and of course music. To experience Beverley is to experience a creative festival of delight."

HOME_SERVICE_RESIZE_USE

It is with great regret that we have to announce that John Tams (with Home Service) will be unable to honour any engagements for the next few months. This is due to the development of two large polyps on his vocal chords.

He is currently making arrangements to undergo a private operation to remove these, the surgeon says the prognosis is very good and that full recovery should take approximately two months.

As a result of this we regret that we have to announce that this will include the performance of HOME SERVICE at the Beverley Festival. We are very sorry to those of you who were looking forward to seeing the band.

To replace the band we are delighted to have been able to secure the amazing new band The Mighty Doonans. Who have made a huge revival over the past few months, and look set to become a mighty force on the traditional music scene in the UK

This new band has developed from the redoubtable “Doonan Family Band who have been part of the English folk scene for many years. The Doonans have a deserved reputation for their imaginative and innovative interpretations of traditional songs and ability to introduce other genres of music and dance to their thoroughly entertaining performances. The Mighty Doonans philosophy remains the same and the inclusion of the NEW family members has revitalised the band and created a massive musical powerhouse with incredible vocal performances. The amazing stage show embraces the best of traditional folk (and step dance) whilst wrapping the songs and tunes in a glorious mix of rock /jazz influences that leaves audiences spellbound! The line up includes Mick Doonan, Phil Murray, Kevin Doonan, Stu Luckley ,Ian Fairbairn, Rosie Doonan, Jamie Luckley, Ben Murray and Frances Doonan.
