'Festival Village' Expansion
Now entering its 27th year, the Festival is bigger than before with the addition of 2 new marquees to the Festival Village in 2009 - Acoustic and Concert bringing the marquee total to 4 offering a weekend FULL of music, activities for all ages, Family and Youth events, workshops and children’s events plus non-stop performances at the Late Night Festival Club. The Wold Top Festival Bar serves the famous Beverley Festival Brew and 'The Festival Village' also features a fantastic array of craft, food and music stalls - something for everyone. With the huge success of the expanded Festival Village, we have received a great deal of positive feedback and enthusiasm for developing it further. As a result we will be expanding it to include a Village Green with an informal performance area and more stalls offering an even “greater” atmosphere.
A New Additional Campsite
As a result of all this, part of the festival campsite will be moved to an additional site close by, specially for festival goers, and will be ideal for those wishing to get away from the festival for an hour or two to enjoy a quiet period, ready to go back revitalised! The new site is a 15 minute walk away past the majestic Beverley Minster and along quiet green lanes. Alternatively campers can take a shuttle bus that will be laid on specially for them - more information will be available shortly. When booking, those preferring to camp on the new site will need to specify – "Country Lane Campsite (Quiet Site)" as opposed to "Festival Village Campsite" which will be at it’s regular location. So successful was our policy to keep motor vehicles off the Festival Village site, and maintain a Greener feel, we will be continuing this policy for 2010, and will once again be providing off-site car parking, with security, for vehicle owners. Further information can be found in the 'Camping' tab in the 'Ticket Info' section of our site. We are all excited about these developments here in the Festival Office as we feel that we are now moving in a direction that everyone is really enthusiastic about.
